My life philosophy

Live life fullest;

Learn till the last day;

Love the world.

My life thus far

I firmly believe that imparting life-skills in young generation, who anyway gain educational degrees and qualifications, will enable them to experience success, happiness and purpose.This will enrich and empower their lives and the lives of the next generations. Happiness and empathy are essential now, more than in any other times of the past and such numbers have to grow to create a beautiful world. I will play my part in making it a reality.

Husband Ramakrishnan is a Chartered Accountant with a rich 3 decade professional experience. Daughter Priyamvadha is a Media Content Strategist and son Siddharth is a budding sportsperson

MY GROWTH AND LIFE LESSONS

My creators (Natesh K Murthi and Kala)

I was a happy child with a loving family and a positive environment

I carried an ordinary appearance and studied in a Government School – never suffered from inferiority complex though

I was an above average student, but could definitely have done better

Was an ardent fan of Tamil patriotic poet Barathiar, who spoke vociferously about equality for women in the early 20th century. It sowed the seed in me to be a contributing woman

Completed M.A (Public Administration) as a married woman, CAIIB (bankers’ exam 18 papers) with one child and M.Phil (Women Studies) as mother of two.

Settled in a banking career, because i grew up seeing my mom as a banker (RBI)

Reading books improved my communication in English and enabled entering a multi-national Bank.

Wanted to work for social cause even as a student – remember arguing about why I can’t donate blood if I had not turned 18. Did donate around 10 times in my lifetime after that.

Oration and writing were childhood interests and that is what I passionately began doing in forties

Conceiving and presenting humour programs keeps me young at heart

Love for family, value system, strong principles, ability to express myself have all brought me to where I am.

15 years of Banking experience has given me the authority to impress upon younger women that personal success and family happiness are both possible, if only a woman is strong.

Trustee, Sahayata

Sahayata

Sahayata is a project that aims to bring about a change in the society through its multiple initiatives. These initiatives include education of economically underprivileged students, building life skills, pre-marital counselling and workshops to create exemplary marriage.

The objective of supporting education is to make it available for deserving students by providing them the necessary financial assistance. Moreover, to go beyond educational qualifications, Sahayata also conducts customised life skill programmes.

Pre-marital counselling is available for prospective brides and grooms. Sahayata focusses on preparing individuals to create a relationship that is built on an ethic of mutual respect and responsibility. The idea is to formulate a preventive mechanism to reduce and possibly eliminate the sourness in relationships by educating adults with soft skills to live a healthy and happy married life.

Have authored self-help books, ” Don’t Fall Rise in Love” for teenagers and “Marriage Mantras” for an exemplary married life in english. Authored Mangayar kaiyedu and Pennal matume mudiyum in tamil. The sale proceeds of these books are deployed for education.
